Edible Economics
I bought this book from Foyles as the cover instantly jumped out.
It features a number of chapters which focus on a single food or drink item / commodity. This is then used as a way to explore a particular aspect of economic theory. It is readable and engaging and covers a lot of ground.
I'm enjoying the starting half of each chapter where food is explored, and the way that it began to be traded and created e.g. the story of Coca Cola's creation, or the world's changing dietary preferences.
Worth a look for those teaching about globalisation and economic geography.
My copy was published by Penguin Books in 2023 and signed by the author.
