Food delivery apps

When you think of food delivery apps you will probably be swayed by the sizeable marketing efforts of Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats.

However, in other parts of the world there are smaller localised companies which people are turning to instead.

These food delivery apps involve a lot of geography. and logistical complexity and mapping related software to track deliveries and payments and ensure that a huge gig workforce is appropriately paid, and food gets to where it needs to be.

Not all locations offer these deliveries - which is again down to geographical aspects: location and culture, and the general economic status of areas.

A few examples of more localised apps were included in a book I wrote some chapters for, which has not yet seen the light of day - which is a shame. I hope that some of it may eventually be repurposed - the current curriculum and specification change has torpedoed it sadly.

There are apps in countries that you might not think have them.

e.g. New Delhi has Zomato....

It does good numbers....
